Good news came quickly for Fredericton outside workers represented by CUPE Local 508 after a bitterly cold weekend on the picket line. The City called the union bargaining team back to the table on Family Day and they reached a tentative agreement by late afternoon.
This evening CUPE 508 members voted to ratify the agreement.
Kevin Smallwood, President of CUPE Local 508 told the NB Media Co-op that he “appreciates all the support we received over this past weekend and we are proud to keep the city moving.” The final contract details will be forthcoming. The outside workers will be back at work in the morning.
