HartBashEVENT | #hartbash @ connexion arc | feb 14

Please join us for an elaborate evening of glamour and good times at Connexion Artist-run Centre in Fredericton (440 York St.) on Friday, February 14. Tickets are five dollars, with all proceeds supporting Connexion – Fredericton’s artist-run centre for contemporary art.

Doors open at 8 PM for this all-ages, wet/dry fundraising event.

The evening will include musical performances by Cesar Morales’ drumming group, the up-and-coming local band Tortue, the dynamic duo Joseph Bonnell + John Morgan, and local legend Kurtis Mcallister. The event will culminate in a totally sweet dance party.

#HART BASH will include a series of artist projects critically-themed around “selfies,” Facebook and other iterations of narcissistic internet culture. Projects include a photo-based installation project by Fredericton photographer Jeff Crawford, a “selfie booth” by artist Kelly Hill, a “stylist booth” by local designers Stephanie Tait + Sabrina Thibodeau (sponsored by Reneu Boutique + Value Village), a “kissing booth” by Marie Fox, and a secret project conceived by Michael McEwing.

Dress code is glamour, glitter and all things vogue.

Cash bar will be serving suitably intriguing mixed drinks – alcoholic and non – and the event is sponsored by Picaroons.

Look forward to dancing and fortune telling late into the night …

CONNEXION is a growing, dynamic community of people, meeting to engage with contemporary art, and to discuss the issues of social urgency. The centre hosts dozens of contemporary art exhibitions, workshops, performances, readings and other community events throughout the year – supporting experimental art and emerging artists. No background in art is required, just bring your interest, bring your thoughts, bring your enthusiasm!
