About 30 people rallied against the use of disposal linens in New Brunswick’s hospital operating rooms on the corner of Regent and Prospect in Fredericton on July 10th.
The purpose of the rally was to bring awareness to the public of a plan to start using disposable linen in the province’s operating rooms. According to CUPE NB, the union representing the workers whose jobs are on the line as a result of this shift, the change will result in as many as 700 disposable gowns a day going to the landfill.
