PFLAG Canada proudly supports Out With Dad

Moncton – PFLAG Canada is pleased to announce its support for Out With Dad, an award winning Canadian web series produced by JLever Presentations.

“The series shines a spotlight on the struggles people face when they or a loved one comes out as gay, lesbian or bisexual”, said Cherie MacLeod, Executive Director, PFLAG Canada. “Out With Dad addresses these issues openly, honestly and with fearless conviction.”

In this era of social media, Out With Dad is an accessible resource that appeals to a wide audience, which includes people who would not otherwise seek information on LGBT diversity. The webisodes have been collectively viewed over 800,000 times and have garnered international recognition and awards.

“It’s exciting to see a show like Out With Dad achieve success, said MacLeod. Its popularity supports what we are seeing across our organization – that interest in LGBT diversity is on the rise. We applaud the show’s producers, Jason Lever and Eric Taylor for their efforts to foster a more inclusive society.”

Out With Dad is an award winning web series produced in Toronto, Ontario. Returning for its highly anticipated second season, it is a relatable, family-friendly drama which follows 15 year-old Rose and her single father as she’s coming of age and coming out of the closet. Rose is an intelligent and shy, well adjusted teen, who is beginning to explore her sexuality, including an attraction to her best friend, Vanessa. She isn’t comfortable sharing these feelings with anyone, especially Dad. And like most dads, Nathan isn’t cool with his daughter keeping secrets, especially when he sees her struggling.

PFLAG Canada is a national charitable organization that provides support, information and resources to anyone with questions or concerns about sexual orientation or gender identity issues. The organization oversees a network of highly effective volunteers that provide local support in nearly 80 communities nationwide. People who are struggling with sexual and gender identity issues often have difficulty asking for help. PFLAG Canada is there when it seems no-one else is. The organization has recently committed to expanding its toll-free support services to 24/7 support network hours a day, 7 days a week.
