In support of the youth who attempted a harmless prank, I’m joining the
Facebook group (Help decrease consequences for streakers of KVHS –
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=132094460150217&ref=search).
Those kids should not be banned from graduation or charged for being naked. It’s silly, perhaps misguided, and should be considered mischief, nothing more.
Please reconsider your position and allow them and their parents to attend their hard-earned graduation. Perhaps you can get agreement from them to remain clothed throughout the ceremonies and get similar assurances from their parents.
Young people are increasingly being unnecessarily criminalized in our society, often blaming young people for their understandable frustration with our collective failure as adults to protect their future. You are setting a bad example to the school, the province and youth across Canada.
